The “Zahorí” series emerges during the early 2000s when the artist struggled between executing works exploring her deeply expressive — and definitively pictorial — need for lyrical abstraction and her desire to incorporate some forms with real or symbolic references. The lyric side, — linked to the use of bright and contrasting colors — predominated in most of these works in which there are also references to seabeds, jungle landscapes, stars, and animals, all charged with a dreamlike and poetic atmosphere.
